For students who are interested in graduating with research distinction in AAAS, the following process and procedures apply:
1. Thesis work should begin at least one year in advance of anticipated defense.
2. Thesis work must be initiated with a faculty advisor (from AAAS faculty or AAAS-affiliated faculty), in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Studies in AAAS.
3. College rules state that students must complete a minimum of 4 semester hours (a maximum of 10 hours) of 4999 research credit in the relevant discipline.
4. Students seeking research distinction must have a minimum 3.0 GPA upon graduation.
