Frank W. Hale Black Cultural Center

Named in honor of Dr. Frank W. Hale, Jr the Hale Center is considered one of the finest Black Cultural Centers in the country. It is housed in an almost 20,000 square foot facility on OSU’s south campus.

National Council for Black Studies

The National Council for Black Studies (NCBS) is the leading organization of Black Studies professionals in the world.  For more than 30 years our members have been at the forefront of driving the development of Black/Africana Studies as a respected academic discipline.  Our commitment to putting theory into practice, however, has also led us to the front lines of community issues throughout the African Diaspora.  Our guiding philosophy is that education should engender both academic excellence and social responsibility.

Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora (ASWAD)

ASWAD is a not-for-profit, tax deductible organization of international scholars seeking to further our understanding of the African Diaspora, that is, the dispersal of people of African descent throughout the world. 

Ohio Prison Education Exchange Project (OPEEP)

The (OPEEP) believe in building prison-to-college pathways through innovative teaching & collaborative learning in Ohio prison settings. Blackness, poverty, migration status, gender non-conformity, queerness, disability, and addiction are NOT crimes. Access to quality education is a right, not a privilege.
