Leta Hendricks is the African American and African Studies Librarian and the Comparative Studies Librarian at The Ohio State University. She works at the intersection of outreach, instruction, and collections to support academic programs and engagement with the scholarship from and about African Americans, Africa, and African diaspora communities. She facilitates engagement with University Libraries collections through proactive collection development. Throughout her career, she has maintained an academic appointment with University Libraries (UL) and am affiliated faculty status with the Center of African Studies (CAS), the Department of African American and African Studies (AAAS), and the Department of French and Italian. Her librarianship advances inclusive and diverse instructional curriculum that apply antiracist methodologies and information literacy practices.  


Leta Hendricks’ scholarship focuses on diversity and social justice issues at local and global levels. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are highlighted in her publications, presentations, exhibits, and posters.  Since 2018, she has published 2 scholarly articles, presented 9 conference presentations, demonstrated 3 conference posters, created 11 Thompson circulation displays, curated 14 Thompson Library exhibits, and scripted 5 Second Life virtual world arrays.
