Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

New article by Simone C. Drake in latest issue of Pathways magazine

Simone C. Drake, Hazel C. Youngberg Trustees Distinguished Professor of African American and African Studies, recently published an article in the Ohio Humanities magazine Pathways titled "All Because of a Black Nationalist Flag." The article offers “a brief account of the beginnings” of the Department of African American and African Studies and as part of her “current book project on integration in Columbus Public Schools—Becoming Educated: A Midwest Story of Race, Law, and Culture” and her documentaryShutdown, about the police raid at Linden McKinley High School in 1971.
