AAAS Faculty Member Jason Rawls Celebrated by The Columbus Dispatch

On March 27th 2025, AAAS faculty member Jason Rawls was celebrated as a professor and a musician in 2 consecutive features by The Columbus Dispatch. Watch him discuss how Ohio State students react to his popular hip-hop music class and flip through gallery photos of him as a local DJ and prominent music producer.

A leader of the #HipHopEd movement, Dr. Rawls is an Assistant Professor of Hip Hop at The Ohio State University. Before this, at Ohio University, Dr. Rawls helped develop the first Hip-Hop Based Education program in a college of education. Rawls is also featured in an exhibit on Hip Hop at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.
