Learn about the escalating conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo through this interdisciplinary and informational discussion. Dr. Sarah Van Beurden of the Department of African-American and African Studies/Department of History will be moderating. Topics of discussion include the historical origins of the conflict, its geopolitical implications, diaspora engagement, and challenges surrounding humanitarian intervention. Refreshments will be provided.
