AAAS Faculty Member Tanya Saunders Featured in 2014 Sexuality Studies Lecture Series

The 2014 Spring Semester Sexuality Studies Lecture Series featuring new faculty at Ohio State who specialize in Sexuality Studies will feature African American and African Studies professor, Tanya Saunders.  

  • Monday, January 27, 4:00-5:30, 311 Denney: Tanya Saunders, Assistant Professor of African American and African Studies. Title of talk: “Transnational Black Lesbian Politics and Hip Hop.” Co-sponsored by the Department of African American and African Studies. Through a comparison of three feminist lesbian hip hop groups (one from Cuba, two from Brazil), this presentation explores hip hop’s place as a site of contemporary transnational feminist and LGBT activism. This talk will also serve as the AAAS Brown Bag Lecture of the month.
