Author of The Prentice Hall Anthology of African American Women's Literature, Granny Midwives and Black Women Writers: Double-Dutched Readings, Invisible Man's Literary Heritage: Benito Cereno and Moby Dick, and of articles and reviews on African American literature and theory, and multicultural pedagogy. Recipient of The Ohio State University Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching and The Ohio State University Faculty Award for Distinguished University Service.
Formerly, Dr. Lee served as the Chair of the Department of Women's Studies (now Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies) and as Chair of the Department of English, as well as Vice Provost for Diversity and inclusion and Vice President for Outreach and Engagement at The Ohio State University.
