Graduate Minor

Are you planning on becoming a civil liberties' lawyer, a social worker in America's inner cities, an educator in a multicultural context, or a public policy designer or analyst? Do you intend to establish a career in extension work or public health, to work or conduct research in a region of global Africa? Then YOU should seriously consider the Graduate Minor in African American and African Studies.

The Graduate Minor in African American and African Studies is designed to enrich the graduate experience and education of students in a wide range of disciplines at The Ohio State University. It is structured to meet specific academic and/or professional program needs of graduate students, through guided study and critical appraisal of the Black experience in the USA, Africa and/or the Caribbean.

Students in the Graduate Minor Program are required to complete a minimum of twenty (20) credit hours of course work, including the compulsory course, AAAS 756: Theorizing Race.
